Ready to further your career in the fast-paced, exciting world of cyber security?
Arctic Wolf, with its unicorn valuation, is the leader in security operations in an exciting and fast-growing industry—cybersecurity. We have won countless awards for our excellence in security operations and remain dedicated to providing an industry-leading customer and employee experience.
Our mission is simple: End Cyber Risk. We’re looking for a Senior Developer to be part of making that happen.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly talented Senior Core Platform Services Developer who will focus on the development of features and services for a team that is consolidating common services, reducing duplication and accelerating downstream R&D teams. You will be a key member of the Core Platform Services team that is responsible for the Access Control Platform, a Content Distribution Platform and a Orchestration Platform. These platforms are critical for Arctic Wolf Networks to deliver world-class security operations at scale to global customers.
Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will be:
Architect and develop well-designed, testable, efficient, secure code.
Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of information requires evaluation of identifiable factors, and devise solutions based on limited information and precedent by adapting existing approaches to resolve issues.
Use evaluation, judgment, and interpretation to select the right course of action, which work is done independently and is reviewed at critical points.
Participate in the full software development life cycle including continuous integration and deployment.
Mentor new and junior team members.
Resolve and assess a wide range of issues in creative ways and suggest variations in approach.
We value a culture of sharing, so every team has the opportunity to share their work with the entire department during our monthly R&D Demos. Once a year we hold a department-wide Hackathon, teaming up across all R&D teams over four days to collaborate and build cool ideas outside the normal project scope. While innovation is the focus, some of these ideas do make it into our products.
You’re an experienced software developer who can complete solutions with little or no guidance. Comfortable with working independently on larger, more impactful features, you have comprehensive knowledge of software development practices and mastery over writing and debugging code. You perform complex programming tasks and implement software systems with ease. Highly collaborative, you mentor more junior developers.
At a minimum, you should have:
Bachelors or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
Programming experience with one of Golang, Java, C++, or an equivalent advanced object-oriented language.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Backend development experience working on scalable, high availability services.
At least 5 years full-time work experience as a software developer.
Additionally, it would be great if you had:
Experience with AWS technologies.
Experience with Kubernetes and Kafka.
Experience with Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR)
In addition, you may have demonstrated leadership experience from previous projects, regardless of title held. Even if you haven’t worked with all of our specific technologies, you bring a diverse knowledge base that you use to help the team solve complex technical problems. You have comprehensive knowledge of software development practices, and mastery over writing and debugging code. You’ll receive all the training you need during our onboarding process and through additional training on the job.
