As a Principal Architect, you will begin with a focus on Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, architecture and ML operations infrastructure, you’ll be responsible for providing architectural leadership for teams transforming machine learning models and ideas into production-grade services integrated with Arctic Wolf’s data pipeline and services. You may subsequently move to other areas of focus. Responsibilities may include:
Championing the philosophical and aspirational architectural vision for our Machine Learning Platform with stakeholders.
Designing architectural blueprints, achievable tactical milestones, and aligning high level designs for Arctic Wolf’s ML, AI, DS, and ML Ops projects.
Understanding how to measure value to the product and customer, above and beyond the typical measures of ROC curves and sensitivity and specificity
Promoting transparency and communication between teams with shared, achievable, and mutual success criteria.
Aligning our Labs, Platform, and S2CX teams to work in concert to achieve the architectural vision.
Creating a golden path for quality and resiliency in our designs, and monitoring to detect and resolve unpredictable failures quickly.
Working with product management and R&D to define and execute on the company's technical roadmap and strategic vision.
Owning the technical and architectural vision, product design and architectural decisions for your teams' projects.
Providing insight and understanding to architects and R&D for their realm of expertise, and to keep abreast of new developments.
Analyzing, recommending, and developing POCs and prototypes of architecture designs, technologies, 3rd party tools and integrations.
Identifying and evaluating trade-offs between various architectural decisions to inform design choices.
Providing technical oversight, guidance and coaching to architects, product management, developers and engineers.
Ensuring that our software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc.
We are an innovative team that focuses our research on R&D projects. Often, we evaluate of new software and tools, proofs-of-concepts and hands on prototyping. We investigate solutions, look at the trade-offs, and lay the groundwork and architectural strategy. The team also works closely with product managers and R&D to help us succeed together. We value a culture of sharing, so architecture work is peer reviewed and discussed with other architects to discuss tradeoffs and communicate ideas.
About you
You are an experienced Architect, Software Developer, or technical leader with experience writing software and broadly knowledgeable in highly specialized fields or several related disciplines. You enjoy learning new concepts, technology research and experimentation. You lead and contribute to development of company objectives to achieve goals in creative and effective ways, and are central to solving technical problems. You are comfortable coaching developers and communicating technical ideas.
WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH EXPERIENCE IN:
History of technical leadership of successful projects, as well as some lessons learned from failures.
Experience in technical architecture, system architecture, solution architecture, or enterprise architecture.
Experience in software development with Golang, Python, Java or a similar high-level language.
Broadly knowledge of technical details, best practices, and design patterns in highly specialized fields or several related disciplines.
History of making and defending, effective decisions using data and research, and accepting feedback.
History of explaining technical concepts using audience-specific language for audiences with different technical skill levels.
Experience with Machine Learning Operations, model training and deployment, Big Data, ETL and data engineering best practices.
Familiarity with Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and related disciplines.
Experience designing for quality and resilience, understanding and predicting failure scenarios, and how to measure and monitor service health.
Experience with building standard data science metrics and applying them to measurable business impacts
Experience designing for scalability and resilience, high-volume, and high-throughput workloads.
Passion for holding the line on quality and helping teams understand and align with the architectural vision.
