We are looking for a Senior AdTech Engineer to join our growing team and contribute to the future of advertising technology.
Role Overview:
As a Senior AdTech Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of scalable, high-performance systems that power our ad platform. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and frontend developers, to build solutions that improve targeting, bidding, and analytics capabilities. Your expertise in programmatic advertising, real-time bidding (RTB), and ad exchanges will drive the evolution of our platform to meet the complex demands of the digital advertising landscape.
As a Senior AdTech Engineer, you will:
- Lead the development and optimization of programmatic advertising systems, including real-time bidding (RTB) platforms and demand-side platforms (DSPs).
- Architect and maintain high-performance, scalable infrastructure to support large-scale ad operations, handling millions of ad requests per second.
- Collaborate with product and data science teams to build new features, optimize existing processes, and ensure seamless integration of new technologies.
- Implement and improve ad targeting algorithms, fraud detection systems, and analytics tools to enhance the efficiency of ad campaigns.
- Optimize the ad delivery pipeline for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in the AdTech ecosystem, identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies.
- Mentor junior engineers, promoting best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
We look for teammates who have:
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in AdTech.
- Strong proficiency in backend development (e.g., Java, Python, or Go) and experience with large-scale distributed systems.
- Expertise in programmatic advertising, including experience with RTB, DSPs, SSPs, and ad exchanges.
- Solid understanding of auction mechanics, bidding strategies, and ad fraud prevention techniques.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and familiarity with machine learning in an advertising context is a plus.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on performance optimization and scalability.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
Button provides employees with a RemotePlus workplace, which blends “work from anywhere” with in-person collaboration. Button’s total compensation package includes a base salary competitive with what is offered by similar companies in major US markets. The salary range for this role is expected to be between $160,000 and $205,000 (offered salary is based on a number of factors including skills and experience relative to the job description listed above).
In addition, Button provides employees with a 401(k) plan and automatically contributes 3% of an employee’s salary annually.
