Reporting to the Head of Engineering, Cribl Inc is looking for a Director of Engineering for our Cloud SRE & Platform Infrastructure team! Your role will grow and support a remote-first, diverse, talented team of people who are responsible for our cloud infrastructure components and production site reliability. You are passionate about resilient systems and are pragmatic about how to approach SRE and Platform Infrastructure challenges.

• Lead and scale our team of Site Reliability and Platform Infrastructure Engineers
• Drive reliability through out the engineering and product organization
• Foster a “customer first” mindset by aligning the team toward outcomes that will delight our customers
• Collaborate with other leaders to align and solve challenges across multiple teams
• Balance addressing tactical problems with the team while also maintaining a strategic focus on future initiatives and helping define areas of improvement, tech debt, and engineering-driven roadmap items
• Establish a strong partnership with product management and project management team members to plan, prioritize, and execute the product roadmap

As An Active Member Of Our Team, You Will Bring...

• Demonstrated experience building, growing, and leading globally distributed remote teams with a focus on SRE process/practices and Cloud Infrastructure automation
• Excellent technical competency and hands-on experience in building and automating resilient distributed systems (Design Patterns, Tools, Security, Observability, etc)
• Experience hiring, training, and getting the best out of your engineers while fulfilling all aspects of software development and maintenance
• Experience working directly with customers when troubleshooting technical issues and/or collaboration on feature enhancements.
• Experience building and cultivating strong engineering practices and processes

Nice to have:

• Experience in cloud environments, specifically AWS is preferred
• Strong grasp of cloud design patterns and principles
• Solid understanding of Site Reliability practices/processes/culture
• Agile development experience and understanding of DevOps culture
• Comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirtyDocker, K8s, Terraform, Ansible, Node/JavaScript, AWS

Salary Range ($190,000- 250,000)

The salary for this role is dependent on geographic location. The salary offered within the range described will be based on the individual candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a competitive salary, Cribl also offers a generous benefits package which includes health, dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance, paid holidays and paid time off, a fertility treatment benefit, 401(k), equity, and eligibility for a discretionary company-wide bonus.
