About the role

The Manager of Business Development is a key leadership position reporting directly to the Director of Business Development. As the Manager, you are someone who brings a proven track record in successfully building and leading business development activities at a high growth SaaS company.

This leadership role requires the versatility to be hands-on with operational day-to-day details as well as the ability to see the big picture and formulate “look-ahead” growth strategies. In this role, you will set the tone for the BDR organization to scale in a highly dynamic, fast paced environment. The role will initially inherit a team of BDRs with plans to scale in alignment with Dremio's growth.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead a team of BDRs to create qualified opportunities for the sales team
  • Maintain a self-starter attitude while creating outreach strategies for new lead generation methods
  • Monitor Outbound calls and emails to prospects
  • Guide BDRs as they conduct market research to identify new leads
  • Partner with Enterprise Account Executives, Marketing and other stakeholders on outbound strategies and lead generating efforts
  • Train, onboard, and mentor BDRs
  • Work closely with the Demand Gen team to provide feedback on MQLs and campaigns
  • Articulate the key value of Dremio to a wide range of industries
  • Monitor high volume, personalized prospecting to qualify leads
  • Take on operational and administrative tasks to drive the performance of the BDR team
  • Work closely with Sales and other members of the BDR Leadership team to improve opportunity management and qualification processes
  • Analyze performance metrics to ultimately drive increased productivity and results
  • Provide call and email coaching
  • Build relationships and educate partner counterparts on the value of working together
  • Collaborate with Dremio’s partner seller counterparts to drive net new meetings
  • Manage initiatives that drive pipeline
  • Accurately forecast weekly, monthly, and quarterly attainment
  • Hands-on experience with technology stacks including Salesforce, Outreach/Salesloft, Gong, 6Sense, Showpad, Tableau and more

Attributes we’re looking for

  • Be a coach and willing to address performance issues
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and develop mutually agreed upon action plans
  • Flawless communication skills, both written and oral, with extensive public speaking experience
  • Working knowledge of the enterprise software market or the ability to learn new software quickly
  • Ability to analyze
  • Demonstrated ability to being a productive team member, providing regular feedback and guidance for individuals on the team
  • Have a strong work ethic and are eager to learn and make new connections with key relationships
  • Have experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or other similar prospecting applications while keeping track of dead-end leads
  • Must be an excellent problem-solver and willing to collaborate in an exceedingly competitive environment
  • You love making connections using complex market research and focusing on continued learning and improvement
  • Thorough understanding of commercial awareness and brand recognition to successfully establish rapport with prospects

What we need to see

  • 2 years + experience managing a BDR team for a technical software/cloud product
  • 3 years + working in the technology/software industry
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
  • Must live in the Austin are and willing to come into the office no fewer than 3 days per week
  • Passionate about technology and learning more about Dremio
