About Every.io

At Every.io, we're reimagining back-office operations for startups. Our platform simplifies finance, compliance, HR, and more - helping founders stay focused on building, not paperwork. We offer everything a startup needs in one place: Banking, Cards, Bill Payments, Bookkeeping, Tax, HR, Payroll, and Benefits-all with 10x better workflows using AI. We're a Series A startup backed by YC and Redpoint Ventures (Instacart, Stripe, Ramp), growing fast, and building a world-class team.

About the Role

Every.io is hiring a Senior Accountant to own the financial operations of our internal business. This is a hands-on role built for someone who's done the work at a startup before. You'll be embedded directly with leadership, working closely with our CEO and cross-functional teams to keep our books clean, our close process tight, and our filings on time.

You'll inherit a part-time accountant (AP and general entries) who will report to you, and you'll collaborate closely with our payroll team, sales, and external stakeholders. The right person has a bias for action, communicates proactively, and isn't afraid to push leadership when deadlines are on the line.

What You'll Do

  • Own the month-end and year-end close process end-to-end

  • Manage and reconcile bank accounts; match and apply payments

  • Handle accounts receivable, including revenue recognition

  • Prepare tax schedules for income tax filing and coordinate with external preparers

  • Supervise and direct Joe, a part-time accountant handling AP and general entries

  • Cross-collaborate with payroll, sales, and sales support to ensure accurate journal entries and financial data

  • Read and interpret financial statements; present findings to leadership

  • Identify issues proactively and flag them before they become problems - especially around deadlines

  • Manage up consistently: keep leadership informed, follow through, and push for responses when needed

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

  • 5-8 years of accounting experience, ideally with time spent at a startup or high-growth company

  • CPA required

  • Strong QuickBooks proficiency

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Solid understanding of payroll accounting (journal entries, not processing)

  • Ability to read and analyze financial statements fluently (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)

  • A hands-on mentality: you're not above doing journal entries and you're comfortable being both the doer and the decision-maker

  • Highly detail-oriented with a habit of catching things others miss

  • Proactive communicator who manages up, meets deadlines, and isn't afraid to be persistent when they need something

Compensation Range: $120K - $140K
