About Finch

We believe every American household deserves access to counsel in life’s biggest moments. At Finch, we’re building the infrastructure to make justice radically more accessible. Our modern approach to consumer law automates the admin work and puts clients first, starting with personal injury.

Since launching in April, we’ve grown 10x and are now powering pre-litigation for top law firms across the country. We combine expert operators with purpose-built AI to handle intake, claim opening, medical records, police reports, lien management, demands, and everything in between.

We’re backed by Sequoia, Redpoint, and the founders & CEOs of generational companies like DoorDash, Ironclad, and Digits. We’re rebuilding how the law serves everyday Americans from first principles, and we’re hiring exceptional operators to help us scale it nationwide.

This Role

Finch Legal is at a stage where product thinking can change the trajectory of the company — and right now, no one owns that. You'll be the first PM here, working directly with the founders to define what we build, why we build it, and in what order. The people using our software are legal teams and their clients navigating some of the hardest moments of their lives. The stakes are real, and so is the opportunity.

What You'll Do

You'll own product direction across Finch's platform — internal tools, law firm-facing surfaces, and client-facing experiences. This role will evolve as the company does; expect to shape it as much as fill it.

  • Define what gets built and what doesn't — set priorities, make tradeoffs, and own the roadmap

  • Build the internal case management workflows that help our legal ops team move faster and handle more

  • Shape the law firm-facing product so partners have the visibility and trust they need to run their practice with us

  • Own client-facing product decisions that make a complex legal process clearer and more navigable

  • Lead development of our AI-powered features with an emphasis on real-world usefulness and reliability

  • Establish the foundations of product at Finch — how we prioritize, measure success, and collaborate across engineering and design

Who We Have in Mind

This role requires someone who can operate without a playbook and build confidence in a room where product thinking is still being established.

Must-Haves

  • 5+ years of product experience, with direct ownership of a product area at a high-velocity company

  • Experience defining scope and roadmap at an early-stage or fast-moving company — not just executing on one

  • Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous, high-stakes problems and translate them into focused, testable bets

  • Track record of earning trust with engineering through clear thinking and follow-through

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience building for legal, operations, or workflow-heavy B2B environments

  • Familiarity with AI product development — particularly where reliability and trust are non-negotiable

  • Prior experience as the first or only PM at a company

This Role Might Not Be For You If

  • You do your best work when the roadmap, processes, and success metrics are already defined

  • You prefer a clear organizational structure with dedicated design, research, and PM support around you

  • You're earlier in your career and looking for mentorship and coaching as a primary part of the role

Compensation

The expected package for this role includes base salary + equity.

  • Base salary = $180,000 - $245,000

Benefits

  • 100% coverage for health, dental, and vision.

  • 401(k) retirement plan.

  • In-office snacks, drinks, and daily team lunches and dinners.

  • Flexible PTO (we trust you to take the time you need).

Interview Process

  1. Intro: An initial call to see if there's a mutual fit.

  2. Interview: An interview that typically involves a case assignment of sorts.

  3. Onsite: A visit to our NYC office to interview, meet the team, and have lunch.
