Guild is hiring a Senior Data Quality Analyst. This role will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our data assets. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data quality concepts and experience working with large, complex data sets and also set up and perform automated testing of our data products. In addition to your technical expertise in SQL, Looker, and programming languages like Python, you will be responsible for setting up and guiding Data Quality Analysts on QA best practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve data quality across the organization.

As Sr. Data Quality Analyst, you will:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive data quality assurance processes and strategies.
  • Own the planning, design, and execution of data quality tests and validation procedures.
  • Build test cases, scripts, and scenarios to assess data accuracy and integrity.
  • Write sophisticated SQL queries to identify and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Perform data testing on DWH and Data Vault to ensure data accuracy, completion and validation of business rules.
  • Perform data quality assessments and root cause analysis for identified issues.
  • Present complex issues in an easy to understand way to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with data engineering and product teams to identify data quality issues and recommend solutions.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to resolve data quality issues promptly.
  • Lead by example in promoting a culture of data quality excellence and implement process improvements to enhance data quality standards.
  • Create and maintain data quality dashboards and reports using Looker to visualize data quality trends and issues.
  • Find opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance data quality and efficiency.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Data Quality Analysts, including helping define and drive QA standard processes and reviewing their testing deliverables.

You are a Strong fit for this role if you have:

Required Competencies

  • 5+ years experience in conducting comprehensive backend and ETL testing to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data throughout the processing pipeline.
  • Ability to design and implement test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate data transformations and migrations.
  • Experience in working with large datasets, understanding complex data structures, and identifying data quality issues.
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to write sophisticated queries and proficiency in tools like Snowflake, Mode Analytics etc.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to analyze data trends, identify patterns, and proactively address potential data quality issues.
  • Proficient in documenting data quality issues, testing processes, and results in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to create and maintain documentation related to data quality standards, best practices, and guidelines.
  • Experience working in Jira, setting up best practices for the team for efficient management and tracking of data issues.
  • Proficiency in using data visualization tools, with a strong emphasis on Looker for creating and maintaining data models and reports.
  • Experience in working with large datasets, understanding complex data structures, and identifying data quality issues.
  • ​Hands-on experience with data transformation tools, specifically DBT, for effective modeling and structuring of data.

Preferred Competencies

  • Familiarity with data governance principles and the ability to contribute to the establishment and enforcement of data quality standards.
  • Python scripting for data manipulation, automation as needed.
  • Knowledge of data observability and continuous monitoring principles is a plus.

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range of $100,000 - $137,500, as well as company stock options.
