About your role

As the Senior Director of Procurement & Strategic Sourcing, you'll lead a growing team of procurement specialists and drive the next evolution of Juniper Square's enterprise sourcing strategy - one that is fundamentally reimagined around AI. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, you'll partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Security, and Business Operations to optimize spend, mitigate risk, and enable teams to move faster with confidence.

This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role for someone who brings deep procurement fundamentals and a track record of using AI to transform how procurement operates. You'll oversee contract lifecycle management, drive cost savings through competitive sourcing and vendor negotiations, and lead the organization in adopting AI-powered workflows that eliminate manual overhead and surface better decisions faster.

What You'll Do

Strategic Leadership

  • Build upon and evolve Juniper Square's procurement strategy with an AI-first mindset — identifying where automation, intelligent tooling, and agentic workflows can unlock scalability and operational excellence.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team, modeling continuous learning and embedding AI fluency as a core team capability.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team, shaping vendor strategy and ensuring procurement initiatives align with organizational priorities and our broader AI transformation roadmap.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner closely with Finance, Legal, Security, and Business Operations to ensure procurement activities align with budget, compliance, and risk-management objectives.

  • Champion AI-driven process adoption across the organization — educating stakeholders, driving change management, and ensuring consistent policy adherence as new workflows are introduced.

Vendor Management

  • Lead all strategic sourcing activities, including supplier selection, RFPs, contract negotiations, and vendor performance management.

  • Manage the full contract lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and visibility across all vendor agreements — leveraging AI tooling to reduce cycle time and increase data integrity.

  • Oversee vendor performance management, including KPIs, SLAs, and renewal reviews, to ensure optimal pricing, service levels, and long-term value.

  • Proactively manage renewals and vendor relationships to maintain competitive advantage and operational continuity.

  • Identify and deliver significant cost savings across software, services, and operations while maintaining quality and mitigating risk.

AI-Driven Process Transformation

  • Lead the design and implementation of AI-powered procurement workflows — from contract review and spend analysis to vendor risk assessment and renewal forecasting.

  • Evaluate, pilot, and scale AI tools (including agentic platforms such as Claude) that reduce manual lift and increase procurement team output without sacrificing rigor.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting that track procurement KPIs, performance metrics, and savings outcomes — increasingly powered by automated data pipelines and AI-assisted analysis.

  • Build a continuous improvement culture on the team, where identifying automation opportunities is an expected part of every team member's role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of procurement and sourcing experience, ideally within a SaaS or technology company, including at least 2–5 years at the Director level.

  • Demonstrated experience leading AI-driven process transformation within a procurement or operations function - not just tool adoption, but measurable workflow redesign and efficiency gains.

  • Strong negotiation skills and a proven track record of achieving cost savings and process improvements.

  • Excellent understanding of procurement best practices, contract management, and risk mitigation.

  • Hands-on experience with AI-powered tools and agentic platforms; comfort experimenting with and deploying new tooling, including platforms such as Claude, is a strong plus.

  • Proven ability to build a brand for procurement within a company and drive organizational change through influence, communication, and stakeholder alignment.

  • Exceptional relationship-building and cross-functional collaboration skills, especially with executive teams.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Experience implementing or scaling procurement tools (e.g., CLM, spend management, AI workflow automation platforms) strongly preferred.
