About Juniper Square

Private markets are one of the largest, most complex, and most underserved corners of global finance. Our mission at Juniper Square is to unlock their full potential. We’re the Operations Partner trusted by 2,300+ GPs, unifying technology, data, and fund administration services into a single platform that helps GPs move faster, make better decisions, and scale with precision. With $300B+ under administration and 700,000+ LPs on platform, we’ve built the scale to match our ambition. And with JunieAI, our purpose-built AI platform, we’re reimagining how private markets operate, embedding intelligence across every workflow. Founder-led since 2014, backed by $350M+ in funding, and now 1,000+ employees strong, we’re building a company designed to shape the future of private markets for decades to come.

Our culture is built for people who want to do ambitious, meaningful work alongside exceptionally talented teammates. We think like owners, move with urgency, and take pride in solving hard problems that truly matter to our customers and the future of private markets. We believe the best ideas come from open debate, deep collaboration, and diverse perspectives, which is why we believe transparency is the default and feedback makes us stronger. If you’re energized by high standards, rapid growth, and the opportunity to help define a category at a pivotal moment, come join us!

About your role

We are looking for a Design Engineer to join our Design team. This is a senior-level Individual Contributor role that lives at the intersection of design and code. You will own the quality bar for UI across our product suite, build production-grade implementations of designer concepts, and create the systems and workflows that let the design team ship faster with AI.

You'll report to Design leadership and work day-to-day alongside our product designers, with close collaboration across Engineering. You are the person who makes sure our product looks and feels as good as it was imagined. You notice the details others skip and care about the last-mile polish that makes a product feel unified and considered.

Our product is genuinely complex. We serve investment managers navigating fund accounting, investor portals, and data-heavy reporting workflows.Making it feel clear, fast, and well-crafted is the job.

AI fluency is a baseline expectation. You use tools like Cursor and Claude Code as natural extensions of your workflow: prototyping, exploring interactions, generating production-grade starting points. You have sound judgment about when to reach for a tool and what to do with the output.

What you’ll do

  • You are the quality bar for UI across the product. Identify rough edges, propose fixes, and ship improvements, often autonomously, without waiting for a ticket.

  • Own the last-mile details: consistent spacing, transitions that land right, interactions that don't jar. If something feels slightly off anywhere in the product, that's your domain.

  • Build production-quality UI components and interactions that close the gap between what was designed and what actually ships.

  • Help designers ship in code. Build the workflows and tooling so that designer-made prototypes are structured starting points that engineers and AI agents can work from directly.

  • Create the handoff layer between design and engineering: organize and structure designer-generated code so it flows cleanly into agents or gets picked up by the engineering team without rework.

  • Maintain and extend our design system: write components, document patterns, and make sure the system gets used consistently across a complex, data-heavy product.

  • Partner with Product and Engineering to define what's possible and push what Juniper Square's product can look and feel like.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of experience working across design and front-end engineering, with a portfolio of shipped work that demonstrates strong craft.

  • Strong front-end engineering skills (TypeScript, React, CSS, animations) and the ability to write clean, maintainable code.

  • Equally comfortable in Figma and a code editor. You know when to use each and move fluidly between them.

  • A strong sense of taste. You notice details others skip and care deeply about getting from 90% to 100%.

  • Experience working with or contributing to a Design System, including component creation and pattern documentation.

  • Demonstrated ability to prototype rapidly, moving from concept to high-fidelity, working implementation quickly.

  • Fluency with AI-powered coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code or equivalent) as part of your core workflow.

  • Strong written and visual communication skills, with the ability to articulate design and implementation decisions to cross-functional partners.

Preferred

  • Experience at a complex B2B or Enterprise SaaS product, ideally in a data-heavy domain.

  • Background building or evolving design systems at scale.

  • Experience with motion design or complex CSS/animation libraries.

  • Experience designing or implementing UI for complex, data-heavy workflows: dashboards, tables, multi-step forms, or financial interfaces.
