About Us

Legora is on a mission: to redefine how legal work gets done. From the very start we have been very clear about the fact that we are not building a solution for lawyers, we are building it with them, because it is the only way to make sure it gets done the right way; working side-by-side every step of the way.

Our AI-native workspace empowers legal professionals not just to work faster - but to ask better questions, unlock new insights. Every day, we push the boundaries of legal tech to make complex processes smarter, faster, and more human. From thousands of documents analysed in minutes to intelligent workflows designed in collaboration with leading practices, we’re turning possibility into reality.

Today we are trusted by global firms like Cleary Gottlieb, Goodwin, Bird & Bird and Linklaters in over 40 countries, but we have no plans on stopping here. We ship fast, we iterate effectively, and we scale rapidly - not by accident, but by design.

When you join Legora, you become part of a team that believes "good enough" isn’t good enough and that the way to win is together, by empowering lawyers to do their best work with technology that truly understands them. If you’re excited by building from first principles, working with exceptional people, and accelerating change in a high-stakes, high-impact domain—then this is the moment and the place.

We’re not just shaping the future of legal tech — we’re defining it. Ready to join us in building the intelligent future of law?

The Role:

As Senior Business Controller at Legora, you will be the finance partner to our leadership and teams across the organization. You play a central role in how we plan, measure, and steer the company as we scale – across budgeting, forecasting, unit economics, reporting, and decision support.

Your task is simple: make the business legible. You turn complexity into numbers we trust, insights we act on, and decisions we’re confident in. You ensure we understand what drives performance in each area, where we are winning, where we need to improve, and what that means for what we do next.

This is a high-leverage role. How we plan and measure will directly shape our priorities, investments, and ability to remain exceptionally lean while growing fast.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Be part of company-wide budgeting and rolling forecasts across revenue, cost, and headcount

  • Build financial models that are simple, robust, and reflect how the business actually works

  • Track performance versus plan, surface risks early, and recommend concrete actions

  • Partner with leaders on key decisions such as hiring, pricing, product investments, and market expansion

  • Translate financial data into clear narratives that align teams and drive the right trade-offs

  • Design and maintain KPI frameworks and dashboards that support a truly data-driven culture

  • Ensure strong financial data quality, cost allocation, and internal controls as the company scales

  • Drive automation across forecasting, reporting, and close-related workflows

Who You Are:

You are analytical, structured, and commercially minded. You want to be close to the business and focused on building systems that scale — not just producing reports.

You thrive in fast-moving environments, handle ambiguity well, and bring structure to messy realities. You go beyond understanding what happened and push for why it happened, what it means, and what we should do about it. You’re comfortable challenging assumptions and owning outcomes end-to-end.

Experience:

  • 5–10+ years in Business Controlling, FP&A, Strategic Finance, or similar roles in high-growth or complex environments

  • Strong financial modeling skills and a track record of building budgets and forecasts leaders trust

  • Practical experience using SQL for data analysis and reporting

  • Proven ability to partner with non-finance stakeholders and influence decision-making

  • Excellent analytical judgment and attention to detail, without losing business context

  • Clear and confident communicator who turns numbers into action

  • Experience with SaaS business models is a plus
