About Us
Legora is on a mission: to redefine how legal work gets done. From the very start we have been very clear about the fact that we are not building a solution for lawyers, we are building it with them, because it is the only way to make sure it gets done the right way; working side-by-side every step of the way.
Our AI-native workspace empowers legal professionals not just to work faster - but to ask better questions, unlock new insights. Every day, we push the boundaries of legal tech to make complex processes smarter, faster, and more human. From thousands of documents analysed in minutes to intelligent workflows designed in collaboration with leading practices, we’re turning possibility into reality.
Today we are trusted by global firms like Cleary Gottlieb, Goodwin, Bird & Bird and Linklaters in over 40 countries, but we have no plans on stopping here. We ship fast, we iterate effectively, and we scale rapidly - not by accident, but by design.
When you join Legora, you become part of a team that believes "good enough" isn’t good enough and that the way to win is together, by empowering lawyers to do their best work with technology that truly understands them. If you’re excited by building from first principles, working with exceptional people, and accelerating change in a high-stakes, high-impact domain—then this is the moment and the place.
We’re not just shaping the future of legal tech — we’re defining it. Ready to join us in building the intelligent future of law?
The role
As an IP Counsel in Legora’s Stockholm office, you will play a central role in supporting one of the fastest-growing legal technology companies globally. You will work closely with our commercial and marketing teams, advising on intellectual property matters with a strong focus on IP licensing agreements, brand use, and marketing-related legal issues.
This role requires a high degree of independence and the ability to operate across multiple time zones, partnering closely with stakeholders to enable commercial initiatives while managing IP and brand risk. You will report to the Head of Legal, based at our Stockholm headquarters.
Legora’s legal function is a forward-deployed, AI-first team working across multiple jurisdictions and legal disciplines. We act as trusted partners to the business, with a strong commercial mindset and a particular focus on enabling scalable licensing models, protecting intellectual property, and supporting go-to-market activities. Beyond strong IP judgment, we value curiosity, problem-solving, and a proactive, solution-oriented approach as we help redefine how legal work is done globally.
What you will be doing:
Act as a commercial partner to the business, working closely with senior stakeholders in Partnerships, Marketing, Growth and Product, on IP-driven commercial initiatives.
Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of IP-focused agreements, including licensing, partnership, brand, and marketing agreements.
Advise on IP risk allocation, licensing models, usage rights, ownership, and contractual protections in customer- and partner-facing agreements.
Protect and enforce Legora’s IP and brand, including managing trademark and domain portfolios, coordinating registrations, and supporting IP-related disputes and litigation as needed.
-
Develop and maintain IP and licensing templates, playbooks, and guidelines to standardise negotiations, protect core IP assets, and improve execution speed.
Who you are
Law degree (LL.M. or equivalent) from Sweden, the UK, or an EU-jurisdiction, qualified to practice in that country.
Proficiency in both spoken and written Swedish and English. Additional language skills are meritorious.
4-5 years of experience at a top-tier law firm and/or as an in-house legal counsel.
Strong experience drafting and negotiating IP, content licensing, and commercial agreements, and supporting commercial and marketing teams. You’re an excellent negotiator.
Strong legal judgment and confidence in making decisions independently.
Your focus is on achieving meaningful business outcomes, translating into actionable advice delivered clearly and comprehensively.
You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic entrepreneurial environment and rapidly evolving business setting. You take initiative and are committed to delivering high-quality results. You are comfortable working independently and can effectively manage work across different time zones.
You are excited about the potential of technology to transform the legal industry. You have a keen interest in AI and legal tech, and you are eager to learn and apply these tools in real-world settings.
