About Us
Legora is on a mission: to redefine how legal work gets done. From the very start we have been very clear about the fact that we are not building a solution for lawyers, we are building it with them, because it is the only way to make sure it gets done the right way; working side-by-side every step of the way.
Our AI-native workspace empowers legal professionals not just to work faster - but to ask better questions, unlock new insights. Every day, we push the boundaries of legal tech to make complex processes smarter, faster, and more human. From thousands of documents analysed in minutes to intelligent workflows designed in collaboration with leading practices, we’re turning possibility into reality.
Today we are trusted by global firms like Cleary Gottlieb, Goodwin, Bird & Bird and Linklaters in over 40 countries, but we have no plans on stopping here. We ship fast, we iterate effectively, and we scale rapidly - not by accident, but by design.
When you join Legora, you become part of a team that believes "good enough" isn’t good enough and that the way to win is together, by empowering lawyers to do their best work with technology that truly understands them. If you’re excited by building from first principles, working with exceptional people, and accelerating change in a high-stakes, high-impact domain—then this is the moment and the place.
We’re not just shaping the future of legal tech — we’re defining it. Ready to join us in building the intelligent future of law?
The role
As an Employment Legal Counsel in Legora’s Stockholm office, you will play a central role in supporting one of the fastest-growing legal technology companies globally. You will work closely with our People Team, advising on a broad range of employment matters with a primary focus on enabling Legora to continue rapidly scaling our team in a robust and practical way.
This role requires a high degree of independence and the ability to operate across multiple time zones, partnering closely with stakeholders globally and becoming an integral part of Legora’s long term employment strategy. You will report to the Head of Legal, based at our Stockholm headquarters.
Legora’s legal function is a forward-deployed, AI-first team working across multiple jurisdictions and legal disciplines. We act as trusted partners to the business, with particular focus on product development, operations, and commercial initiatives. Beyond strong legal judgment, we value curiosity, problem-solving, and a proactive mindset — looking for pragmatic solutions as we help redefine how legal work is done globally.
What you will be doing:
Act as a strategic legal partner to the business, working closely with senior stakeholders in People, Operations, and Leadership on global employment matters.
Lead the drafting, review, and implementation of employment contracts, policies, and frameworks across multiple jurisdictions, with a strong focus on the EU.
Advise on complex employment matters including hiring, terminations, restructurings, performance management, employee relations, and cross-border workforce issues.
Provide commercially pragmatic advice on employment risk, ensuring compliance without slowing business growth or operational velocity.
Support international expansion by assessing employment law implications in new markets and coordinating with external counsel where required.
Develop scalable, repeatable employment frameworks, templates, and internal guidelines to enable efficient and compliant global hiring.
Advise on works councils, collective bargaining considerations, and local regulatory obligations where applicable.
Partner with the People Team to ensure employment practices reflect Legora’s values while meeting legal and regulatory standards.
Contribute to governance, compliance, and risk mitigation initiatives in a fast-scaling international environment.
Who you are
Law degree (LL.M., J.D. or equivalent) from Sweden, the UK, or an EU jurisdiction, qualified to practice in that country.
Proficiency in both spoken and written English. Additional European language skills are meritorious.
5–7 years of experience at a top-tier law firm and/or as in-house counsel, with primary focus on, or strong exposure to, employment and labour law.
Deep knowledge of EU employment law frameworks and cross-border workforce management. Strong understanding of Swedish employment law is required.
Strong legal judgment with the confidence to advise senior stakeholders independently.
Experience supporting high-growth or international organisations is highly valued.
You are commercially minded and solutions-oriented — you focus on enabling the business while appropriately managing risk.
You communicate complex legal issues clearly and translate them into practical, actionable advice.
You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and are comfortable operating with autonomy.
You are excited about the potential of technology to transform the legal industry. You have a keen interest in AI and legal tech, and you are eager to learn and apply these tools in real-world settings.
