Engineering at Levelpath:
We're looking for a Security Engineer to join and grow our security function. This role is central to scaling Levelpath's security operations — helping us protect our infrastructure, keep our compliance programs healthy, and maintain the trust of our customers.
You will work closely with Engineering, DevOps, and Compliance teams, taking ownership of day-to-day security operations while contributing to the initiatives that mature our program — from detection engineering and cloud hardening to AI governance. We have invested heavily in automation and AI-assisted security workflows, and you will both use them daily and help shape where they go next.
This is a hands-on role on a small team, which means real ownership early: within your first months you will take full responsibility for at least one security platform, support Go-to-Market (GTM) activities, and run your own security improvement project end to end.
This position is hybrid/remote with flexible working hours and office in Teodors /Jaunā Teika. In this role you will have the opportunity to be a part of an international team and an agile environment with short decision paths. We currently use Slack, Zoom, Github, AWS, but you may leverage any devices and tools that allow you to do your best work.
What You Will Do:
Run daily security operations — alert review, triage, and investigation across our SIEM, DLP, EDR, and vulnerability management tooling
Participate in incident response and lead investigations of routine security events, documenting findings clearly for technical and non-technical stakeholders
Take ownership of one or more security platforms — configuration, tuning, health, and continuous improvement
Maintain and improve our detection coverage: onboard new log sources, implement and tune detection rules, and reduce alert noise
Collaborate with Engineering and DevOps to manage vulnerabilities and improve our cloud and endpoint security posture
Support Go-to-Market (GTM) activities by contributing to customer security questionnaires (RFIs/RFPs) and participating in customer-facing security reviews and due diligence
Support external audits and compliance initiatives (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR), including evidence collection and maintaining continuous compliance.
Follow up with control owners to ensure security and compliance tasks are completed and accounted for
-
Contribute improvements to our AI-assisted security initiatives and security automation
What you Bring to the Table:
Around 3–5 years of hands-on experience in security engineering, security operations, or a closely related infrastructure role with significant security responsibility
Practical experience with security monitoring and detection tooling (SIEM, EDR, DLP, or similar), including investigating real alerts end to end
AI-pilled, genuinely. Your instinct is to hand work to agents first, and you want to turn over as much as possible to AI in your own workflow and in the product. You have the judgment to know when it worked.
Working knowledge of cloud security, ideally AWS — IAM, logging, network controls, and common misconfigurations
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and audit practices (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.) and how controls translate into day-to-day engineering work
Comfortable working across infrastructure, cloud, and applications, and inclined to automate repetitive work
Comfortable participating in customer security reviews and communicating complex concepts clearly
Effective team collaborator who can also work independently, prioritize sensibly, and know when to escalate
Ownership by default. No one here is just on a team — everyone owns and leads something, and you should want that.
Excellent communication, written and verbal, and genuine enjoyment of working alongside a team.
You do not need to tick every box. If you are technically strong, security-minded, AI orientated, and interested in growing within the security function, we would like to hear from you.
