The Role

You'll be a technical contributor in LILT’s Business Intelligence function; owning BI integrations, dashboard development, and request prioritization while serving as a technical point of contact for stakeholders across the business. This is a hands-on role focused on delivering analytics solutions that drive decision-making across Revenue, Production, Finance, and Operations.

You will help establish and maintain BI standards and best practices (especially in Sigma), and you will drive adoption through clear guidance, documentation, and pragmatic governance.

Scope (What this role owns as a senior IC)

• BI platform execution: Implement and evolve Sigma as LILT’s BI platform (workspace design, migration, new development).

• Reporting standards and best practices: Define and maintain BI standards (metric definitions, dashboard UX patterns, performance practices, documentation expectations), and drive adoption across stakeholders and BI contributors.

• Dashboards and self-serve: Deliver production-grade dashboards and enable self-service where it reduces ongoing BI load.

• Request intake and prioritization: Own the BI intake process, backlog, and SLAs, including proactive communication of trade-offs

What You'll Do

BI Integration & Development

• Drive the implementation of Sigma as LILT's BI platform, including dashboard migration, workspace design, and new dashboard development

• Design and build data transformation layers to ensure reliable, consistent reporting

• Create production-grade dashboards and reports that translate business requirements into actionable insights

• Own complex BI integrations including Sigma, BigQuery, Salesforce, and other business systems

Analytics & Visualization

• Build elegant, intuitive dashboards that adhere to LILT's visualization standards and UX best practices

• Translate complex business questions into clear visual analytics that drive action

• Optimize dashboard performance and query efficiency

• Develop self-service analytics capabilities that reduce dependency on the BI function

Queue Management & Prioritization

• Triage and prioritize incoming BI requests based on business impact, urgency, and strategic alignment

• Manage SLAs

• Maintain and communicate backlog status, blockers, and trade-offs to stakeholders

• Partner with BI contributors (and, when relevant, Data Engineering) to align on requirements

Stakeholder Communication & Partnership

• Act as a BI contact for cross-functional stakeholders (Revenue, Production, Finance, Product teams)

• Gather requirements from non-technical stakeholders and translate into technical specifications

• Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership with clear, compelling narratives

• Manage expectations, push back when needed, and negotiate priorities across competing demands

• Build trusted relationships that enable effective collaboration and faster delivery

You keep stakeholders informed without being asked. You surface risks early, explain trade-offs clearly, and manage expectations transparently. You can simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

When faced with a request, you ask: "Am I building a one-off or a system?" You default to scalable solutions that enable self-service rather than creating more work for the BI team.

Bias for action and iteration

You ship v1 quickly, gather feedback, and iterate. You know when to optimize for speed vs. perfection and can articulate the trade-offs.

Technical excellence with pragmatism

You care deeply about code quality, documentation, and maintainability—but you're pragmatic about when "good enough" is the right choice to maintain velocity.

Skills and Experience

Required:

• 5+ years in business intelligence, analytics, or data roles at a B2B SaaS or technology company

• Expert SQL skills: Complex queries, joins, aggregations, window functions, query optimization

• BI platform expertise: Sigma strongly preferred; Looker, Tableau, or similar enterprise tools acceptable

• Dashboard design proficiency: Translating requirements into intuitive visualizations that follow UX best practices

• Stakeholder management: Proven ability to gather requirements, manage expectations, and communicate with senior leaders

• Cross-functional collaboration: Experience partnering with Revenue, Finance, Operations, and Product teams

• Technical project management: Managing backlogs, prioritizing requests, and delivering on SLAs

Strongly Preferred:

• Sigma Computing expertise: Workbook development, input tables, and administrative features

• Data transformation experience: Building reliable, maintainable data models and transformation logic

• Python for advanced analytics and automation

Nice to Have:

• Salesforce reporting and data models

• Revenue operations and GTM analytics

• Financial reporting and margin analysis

Our Story

Our founders, Spence and John met at Google working on Google Translate. As researchers at Stanford and Berkeley, they both worked on language technology to make information accessible to everyone. While together at Google, they were amazed to learn that Google Translate wasn’t used for enterprise products and services inside the company.The quality just wasn’t there. So they set out to build something better. LILT was born.

LILT has been a machine learning company since its founding in 2015. At the time, machine translation didn’t meet the quality standard for enterprise translations, so LILT assembled a cutting-edge research team tasked with closing that gap. While meeting customer demand for translation services, LILT has prioritized investments in Large Language Models, human-in-the-loop systems, and now agentic AI.
