About the Team

The Data team’s mission is to simplify and automate customer workflows through data science and analytics. We’re core to Monte Carlo’s value proposition and partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Data Science.

About the Role

As a Data Engineer, you will build, orchestrate, and scale the pipelines that power Monte Carlo’s product features (anomaly detection, resolution, lineage). You will also be an internal customer of Monte Carlo, using the product to improve our own pipelines — and shaping product feedback in the process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ingest and transform raw customer data into usable, high-quality datasets.

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and orchestration workflows.

  • Preprocess metrics and metadata for anomaly detection and lineage models.

  • Collaborate with Data Science/Analytics to productionize models and dashboards.

  • Continuously improve pipeline reliability by dogfooding Monte Carlo.

  • Manage and create data platform resources (database objects, AWS resources).

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years building production-grade data pipelines and backend services

  • Strong Python & SQL expertise (PySpark a plus)

  • Familiarity with AWS technologies

  • Experience with modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).

  • Experience with distributed architectures

  • Ownership mindset, urgency, and customer focus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Spark and Airflow.

  • Experience with IaC solutions on AWS, Databricks and Snowflake (Terraform, Cloudformation)
