The Red Hat Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for a Python Automation Engineer to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will gain a deep understanding of technologies that our customers (often banks and telco operators) rely on - Linux operating system, Python, Ansible, Containers, and Clustering. By using the best of your skills and ideas you will help us build and maintain the automated infrastructure that ensures the delivery of a high quality software. What you will do

  • Work as part of a team testing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) High Availability (HA) and GFS2 on various hardware platforms (Power 9/10, x86_64, IBM Z)Help Red Hat develop modern tooling that directly affects company success

  • Assist in design, development, and maintenance of automated tests and test suites

  • Execute test suites, report failures and work with developers to identify root causes.

  • Debug and track issues, verify fixes

  • Design integration test cases to verify new features and bug fixes

What you will bring

  • Basic admin skills in Linux operating systems, e.g., bash, install your own server, troubleshoot problems

  • Ability to write and document code, understand already written code; public code samples (Python, Bash, etc) are a plus.

  • C experience is a plus, but not required.

  • Familiarity and some experience with Git or similar version control systems (Gitlab, Github, etc.)

  • Ability to write, read, and fluently speak in English

  • Ability to design and code complex test cases and contribute to code frameworks that simplify test development and automation solutions

  • Ability to either assist in or to perform root cause analysis of issues, possibly spanning multiple components and subsystems, and to develop reproducers
