Senior Software Engineer in Test - OpenStack Engineering

Job Summary
The Red Hat OpenStack Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to function in a Continuous Integration (CI) role alongside peer developers as part of the Release Delivery team. In this position, you will help to design and influence tests covering several areas including Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs). This work will contribute to the ability to deliver a high quality and secure platform to customers. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will participate as a member of a geographically distributed team, using multiple communication tools for close collaboration. You'll need to have an interest in modern open source development methods and a desire to learn new technologies. Successful candidates will find growth paths into both traditional software engineering roles and as CI engineers.
What you will do
Develop new automated tests; design and develop new test frameworks and automation; analyze current solutions and suggest improvements
Design and Influence testing methodologies
Identify gaps in CI test coverage, implement solutions and maintain the CI pipeline
Contribute to the delivery of Red Hat OpenStack Platform release cadence
Opportunity to inspire and guide technical direction and content within the community and Red Hat
What you will bring
5+ years of experience in engineering (Software engineering or software quality engineering).
Experience with building and maintaining CI pipelines.
Experience running and testing with containerised applications.
Experience testing python based applications
Experience with Agile Development practices
Excellent skills and background in Linux
Experience using Jira for task management and bug tracking
Knowledge and interest in cloud computing, configuration management, and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS)
The following are considered a plus
Experience with and/or understanding of Red Hat OpenStack Platform
Experience creating and maintaining Ansible playbooks
DevOps experience
Experience working in release engineering
Experience with OpenShift and operators
Experience with Tekton pipelines
