Staff Accountant

We are searching for an experienced and detailed-oriented senior general ledger accountant to report directly to the Director, Accounting. The staff accountant will be responsible for maintaining general ledger entries, reconciling financial statements and general ledger accounts, and assisting in the daily operations of the Accounting Department. The role has significant advancement opportunities based upon both the company’s growth and the individual’s performance and determination. This role will have varied responsibilities within the accounting department and will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, analysis, and documentation for the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. This person will report to Strive’s Director, Accounting and assist in putting accounting processes and procedures in place. This position will be heavily involved in reporting and analytics to drive business results and therefore requires a strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and budgeting.

Essential Functions

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Prepare monthly journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation relating to depreciation, amortization, prepaids, accruals, intercompany, consolidation, joint venture and a variety of other transaction types
  • Ensure all journal entries are accurate and in accordance with GAAP
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and variance analyses
  • Assist Manager, Accounting, to coordinate with outside audit and tax firms to prepare audit schedules and backup documentation
  • Assist with corporate reporting requirements
  • Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls
  • Perform various accounting projects for the department
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years’ experience in a corporate accounting role
  • 2+ years’ experience with an ERP system (Oracle NetSuite)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, manipulation of large quantities of data etc.)
  • Health Care industry experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP Accounting
  • Experience with SOX compliance
  • Active CPA license or CPA candidate
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite, Stampli, and Expensify
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Strong analytic skills
  • High diligence and ownership over work
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally
  • Adaptable, Collaborative, Agile
  • Ability to execute with limited supervision

Annual Salary Range: $63,600.00-$74,800.00
