We’re continuing to grow quickly and looking for the best of the best to come join our team.Tend is looking for a Director, Business Development to lead the high growth strategy for our new studio openings within new and existing markets, creating the roadmap for the next 5 years. Currently in six major markets, this person will play a critical role in the continued expansion of our top of the line, de novo dental studios and bringing the best experience to our members. Working closely with the CEO and CFO, the Director, Business Development will select the best markets and locations through research and analysis, site visits and lease negotiation. This is a hybrid position with required travel (preferably located near DC, Boston or NYC).
What you'll do:
- Work in conjunction with key executive leaders to develop the roadmap for de novo studio openings including site selection, lease terms, timing & financial analysis of the sites.
- Lead the identification, feasibility analysis and negotiation of real estate leases
- Lead the lease negotiation of multiple sites, ensuring value and timing targets are achieved
- Manage the development planning for successful studio projects which would include extensive financial investment analysis
- Efficiently manage the end to end build out of each studio, from construction to launch, hitting budget, timing and operational targets
- Direct activities with attorneys, architects, engineers, and other consultants to plan projects related to the development of the Studios
- Lead a team of one direct report
What you'll need:
- 8+ years of real estate experience; healthcare or hospitality industry preferred
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, real estate, architecture, business, finance and/or economics.
- MBA or MS in Real Estate or Finance a plus.
- De novo experience and lease negotiation a must.
- Must possess strong financial analysis skills, including detailed discounted cash flow analysis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Travel expectations 30%
