🚀 Whatnot

Whatnot is a livestream shopping platform and marketplace backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Y Combinator, and CapitalG. We’re building the future of ecommerce, bringing together community, shopping and entertainment. We are committed to our values, and as a remote-first team, we operate out of hubs within the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, and Germany today.

We’re innovating in the fast-paced world of live auctions in categories including sports, fashion, video games, and streetwear. The platform couples rigorous seller vetting with a focus on community to create a welcoming space for buyers and sellers to share their passions with others.

And, we’re growing. Whatnot has been the fastest growing marketplace in the US over the past two years and we’re hiring forward-thinking problem solvers across all functional areas.

💻 Role

The Payments - Treasury team at Whatnot are globally responsible for how our business moves and records the money in every customer transaction; and how taxes, customs, returns, refunds and more just work no matter where our customers are in the world. We are deeply connected with the foundations of our business and unlock tremendous growth within and across international territories, while creating exciting new ways for our users to transact. You’ll collaborate closely with our sister Payments - Experience team, and with other teams and senior leaders across Whatnot while doing so.

To achieve these goals, we’re looking to make a number of substantial improvements to our systems including critical areas of the business like payment scale & reliability, increased payment options, fraud mitigation, and advanced shipping options and improved delivery times with a focus on providing a seamless international marketplace.

Each member of the team has a lot of individual responsibility and many more freedoms, so we need to hire people we can trust. Your ability to make good trade-offs and exercise good judgment is essential to us.
