💻 Role

We are looking for intellectually curious, highly motivated individuals to join our Data team! You will partner with our Engineering, Product, Finance and Operations teams to identify critical goals for the business, develop a deep understanding of them, and design scalable solutions. You should have strong critical thinking and analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a knack for working across teams in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be adept in navigating the data stack and able to support initiatives in all facets from analytics/data engineering and product analytics to machine learning.

This is a 12-16 week internship during Summer 2026. In the role you will gain exposure into various skills involved in making data driven business decisions. Ranging from analytics engineering, dashboard building, and presenting insights.Your work and ideas will contribute to solving some of the most complex technical challenges we face today and define future initiatives. This is a hybrid internship. so Whatnot interns will need to locate within 50-miles of one of our offices in SF, LA, and NYC.

As our next Data Science Intern you should be:
Pursuing a degree in Econ, Business, Analytics, Data Science, or Engineering graduating between Dec 2026 and Summer 2027
Proficient in SQL and other scripting languages like Python or R
Adept at translating business problems into code and producing practical solutions
Analytical thinker who can break down business problems into pieces measured by data
Excellent communicator between technical and non-technical stakeholders
Passionate about storytelling with data
