Responsibilities

We are looking for an exceptional Manager, Field Strategy and Operations to join our growing team. In this role, you will lead the cross-functional execution between the Commercial Business Unit and Workato’s customers, partners, employees, and programs. You will drive synergies and tighten the integration of sales, marketing, and product teams to deliver and achieve region-wide business readiness practices.

In this role, you will also be responsible to:

  • Leads the sales operations function for the Commercial Business Unit to drive sales efficiency and productivity. By using data to identify insights and areas of improvement, you will set policies and drive sales programs to address change management for the Commercial Business Unit team

  • Drive accountability across different teams and provide visibility to budgeting and impact for the Commercial Business Unit

  • Support Commercial Business Unit MD in setting the overall strategy of the sales team and in day-to-day operations - act as a confidant, advisor, and sounding board for ideas, with sound judgment in the application of general business principles.

  • Drive execution of action items and top priorities agreed with the Commercial Business Unit MD, in particular in areas of go-to-market and growth.

  • Assist and communicate with executives in decision-making, program management and initiative implementation

  • Work with the Commercial Business Unit MD and leadership team in thinking through and setting policies and ensuring they are implemented in a timely manner.

  • Drive strategic, operational, and planning processes & strategies to completion in partnership with the Commercial Business Unit leadership team and in collaboration with the broader organization

  • Enhanced synergy between all departments to drive towards commercialization for Commercial Business Unit. OKRs and action items are all aligned and measured towards Commercial Business Unit goals and targets

  • Set up strong foundation in 2024 towards 2025 and beyond, identify key hires, strategic play (up sell, cross sell etc)

  • Accountable for all strategic projects to sharpen the saw and improve the effectiveness and productivity of the Commercial Business Unit

  • Set up a strong culture to retain team members, of learning as well as investing in internal employees

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills

  • You have 5+ years prior experience in sales strategy and operations for a high growth company, or operational experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, venture capital, or business insights / analytics roles

  • You demonstrate the ability to scale and equip the business in a strategic manner, communicate big picture opportunities and make data-driven decisions

  • You have advanced spreadsheet and Salesforce skills and are quick to learn and adopt new sales technology

Soft Skills / Personal Characteristics

  • You’re someone who sales teams want to work with - positive, energetic, responsive, and helpful. But, at the same time, you’re direct, concise, and pragmatic.

  • You have great instincts when it comes to what will work for sellers - you strive to simplify and reduce non-selling tasks whenever possible

  • You know how to prioritize - you know your list will never get done at the end of the day, so you’re excellent at identifying and working on the few things that move the needle the most

  • You have an enthusiastic “roll up your sleeves” mentality and do well under pressure
